If you download any app previously and then reinstall it using OUYA Anywhere, you can install it from a apk version from Google and it will work.
The console will read it.

Ok, so, I decided to scrap the vm idea and realized I could just change launchers. Classic stupid me. But I’m on android 11 as of now and cannot download games. As that cannot work on android 8+. Is there anyway I can fix this

you need to enable install from unknown sources
and you may need to check your notification bar every time to allow the install

try to install a game, when its about done downloading click back to your android menu and it should requiest insdtall permision in the top notifications
sounds like you are running into issues with installation permission, wgich cant be fully resolved but it can be worked around

yes
its just a problem with conflicting permissions across generations, no fix for it, but this works well enough.

It must be done manually but it works, and it didn’t brick my device so hurray!
You just have to clear the data of the OUYA Launcher everytime u reopen the app. The data from your games will still be saved and nothing will be lost.

Also, in the “ouya_config.server.json” it shows the package ids of different apps. Like “tv.ouya.ouyabrowser”, and etc. If I’m correct, if I put the package name in the file, the console would be able to read it when the app is downloaded. Which can make sideloading easier for Anywhere.
Just a theory tho, I’m kind of scared to try it.

Also, it shows package ids of some downloadable applications, like Pandora, I did download it but Uninstalled it. Only more proof for my theory.

I have discovered something extraordinary once again.
In OUYA Anywhere, if you first open the framework app with the rest of the apps when u start anywhere, and connect a ps4 controller, and a ouya controller, they both are detected by the console. But when the Bluetooth connection ends, if reconnected, the ps4 controller doesn’t work and isn’t read.
So if you clear the data and do it again, you can get it to work everytime.
Just clear the data of the framework each time you want to use the ps4 controller, and boom! No more broken controls. This makes playing games a whole lot more enjoyable.
This is all of my data for now. I shall continue my research soon.
