ScummVM on Ouya - Curse of Monkey Island

[1-sentence summary]
Action menu (pop-up user interface) appears then suddenly disappears in Curse of Monkey Island using latest version of ScummVM for Ouya (1.9.0), making the game unplayable.

[What should be happening]
The action menu should appear and remain visible when long pressing the O button on an object and not disappear right after.

[What is happening]
When long pressing the O button on an object in COMI, the action menu appears for a brief second then disappears, making it impossible to select any action (e.g. talk, use, etc…).

[What I’ve tried already]
I tried using the trackpad, but didn’t have any success there. Not sure what else to try… I’m using default settings in ScummVM.

Has anyone had any success with ScummVM games, particularly Curse of Monkey Island? Alternatively, do the latest versions of ScummVM work on Ouya even though they are not specifically designed/compiled for it like version 1.9.0? I’d like to play the game using the analog sticks etc…, not having to resort to track pad use.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Have you connected usb mouse and tried to play with mouse instead of trackpad or ouya controller?

Thanks for the suggestion. I was going to give that a try, but it led me to realize I forgot to mention that I have all the COMI files on a USB flash drive plugged into the back of the Ouya (I don’t have enough space on the Ouya to host the game files as-is), so I pointed ScummVM to there to add/open the game. I’ll try to free up some room on the Ouya itself to give that a shot to see if that changes anything, and then if not, if using a mouse works.

My end goal, however, is to be able to play the game with a controller using the analog sticks, just like if one were to play any of the point-and-click adventure games available on modern consoles.
